Maritime Museum of the Atlantic – Small Craft Gallery

The Museum's Small Craft Gallery offers a unique and cost-effective setting for receptions, dinners, meetings and other gatherings. They've even staged plays! It can accommodate 90 comfortably for a sit-down meal or 250 for a stand-up reception. Becalmed or storm-tossed, the view from the gallery's large windows is spectacular in any season.

 

Halifax Citadel National Historic Park – North Magazine

The newly restored North Magazine is a series of elegant and stately rooms for meetings, conferences, receptions and special events. Small, medium and large rooms feature all the conveniences and amenities of a premiere meeting facility, including audio-visual equipment and parking.

 

   

Saint Mary’s Boat Club

The St. Mary's Boat Club was built in 1905, and was originally operated by The St. Mary's Young Men's Temperance & Benevolent society.

After extensive renovations, it was re-opened in the summer of 1991 by Halifax Regional Municipality. The upper level boasts a large reception hall with hardwood floors, stage, kitchen, and is wheelchair accessible. Outside there is plenty of parking, lawn areas, and a spectacular view of the Northwest Arm from our spacious deck. The hall is available for rental year-round and is primarily used for parties, wedding receptions and corporate functions

 

Oakwood House

Owned by HRM Oakwood House is located on beautiful Lake Banook It has a well appointed reception room with hardwood flooring that can seat 50 people for dinner or 100 for a stand-up style reception and has a full kitchen. This is a wonderful hidden treasure and very affordable. It is run by volunteers who can be reached by calling 464.2402 or 434.5896. It’s also great for barbecues!

 

The Barn, Hubbards

The Barn and its property are available for day use by artisans, auctioneers, fitness instructors, craft instructors, private weddings, family reunions, and craft workshops. The Barn has been used for weddings, art shows, a Matt Mays video shoot, community events, a business expo, a 4H Club Rabbit Clinic and barn dances. It’s a great venue for a summertime event!
 

Captain’s House, Chester

The Captains House is a landmark waterfront property in Chester, built in the early 1800s by the settler, Rev. John Secomb. The historic seaside village of Chester is the jewel of Nova Scotia's south shore, with 180 degree views of Mahone Bay and its many islands. This stately, three storey home was later bought by retired Captain James Allen. For much of the 20th century, the Captain's House was well known as a restaurant and inn. Currently, the redecorated house is available as your home away from home, while touring this stunning region of the Atlantic coastline.

Saint Margaret Bay Sailing Club, French Village Harbour

The St. Margaret Sailing Club has been the beautiful backdrop for numerous weddings, artistic, social, and business events. The building is very versatile and allows for the easy flow of people throughout. The Club is licensed for groups up to 250 people and can easily accommodate functions with tables and settings for 100 people. The building has a wide-open veranda and offers a spectacular panorama of St. Margaret's Bay.

The interior has an open concept that can be separated into large or small room groupings for meetings or parties. There is a bar facility, washrooms, coatroom and kitchen on the main floor as well as ample parking. SMSC is located at Mariner's Anchorage, Croucher's Point Road, French Village Harbour, St. Margaret's Bay.

Located forty minutes from Halifax in Ardoise, Nova Scotia, Boulderwood is situated conveniently on the scenic Evangeline Trail (Highway #1) between Windsor and Mount Uniacke. Boulderwood is located on one of the highest points in mainland Nova Scotia, offering views over the Bay of Fundy (one can often see the Blomidon Look Off). Also on site are a swimming pool, tennis court, small pond and plenty of room for large tents. An amazing venue with limitless options - much more than just trail rides and pony rides!  

Austenville Owls Club

Another treasure on the shores of Lake Banook in the city of Dartmouth. Reception room overlooks the lake and can seat 80 people for dinner and more for a stand-up style reception. Full bar on site. Very affordable. Just call Butch at 463.6457.

Banook Canoe Club, Dartmouth on Lake Banook

The Banook Canoe Club is available for rent all year. They have a large main hall that seats 110 and an adjoining smaller room with fireplace that seats 50. Both rooms open up to a spacious deck that overlooks the water. Banook members get a discount when renting. They can arrange bar service and have a fully equipped kitchen and are capable of providing the rental of wine glasses and tablecloths. Fees to rent the hall for a full day are $395 plus tax. Full Kitchen rental is $115 plus tax. A deposit is required to hold a booking. Other rental options may be available and can be arranged through the club manager at 464-1740.
